Context:
A few years ago, my friend Celina shared an idea she had while daydreaming on a long flight: a magazine about the sex work industry, told from the inside out. Not filtered through assumptions or framed by outsiders, but entirely shaped by the voices and lived experiences of sex workers themselves. That spark became Doxy Magazine, an all-inclusive, independent publication we built together to center stories that are too often overlooked or dismissed.
Our team is just the two of us. Celina leads as Editor-in-Chief, and I bring her vision to life through design. From branding and print layout to building and designing the website (doxymag.com), packaging, merchandise, and social media, I’m the sole designer behind Doxy’s visual identity. While the creative process is highly collaborative, every visual element is developed and executed by me with close input and vision from Celina.
Working on Doxy has been a deeply meaningful and fulfilling creative partnership. It’s a space where thoughtful design supports storytelling, and where visual language helps shape a more nuanced, authentic conversation.
Since its launch in 2023, Doxy has grown from a local NYC zine into a globally stocked publication. We are now carried by distributors and shops including Antenne Books (UK), Milano Fashion Library (Italy), Chez Moi Books (Toronto), and various independent retailers across the U.S.
